I have just ONE word to describe this dressing: YUM!!
GREAT-TASTING Dairy-free ranch dressing absolutely is a real thing! If you’ve ever tried to make healthier versions of the beloved ranch dressing in the past and it didn’t work out, try this recipe. It may take you by surprise.
I haven’t come across a whole lot of healthy ranch dressing recipes in my journey to health that impressed me. So, I began the search for my own ranch that would satisfy my taste buds. And where there is a will, there is a way, because I stumbled upon this little gem of a recipe.
When it comes to ranch dressing, there’s nothing quite like the taste of it. When you want it, you want it. There isn’t another dressing that can quite fill that gap. Sometimes, you just need a good ranch to dip your veggies in, or coat your salad.
The ranch can be made as thick or as thin as you like, depending on whether you want to use it as a dip or dressing.
The ranch dressing may look a little different from traditional ranch dressings, but that’s only because it’s not full of dairy, eggs, and other unhealthy ingredients. And it CERTAINLY doesn’t lack in taste! This goes on so much of my food: jackfruit tacos, salads, dips, stuffed avocado cups, my raw veggie wraps. It just adds so much flavor to so many raw, healthy dishes. Mmm!!
What’s In It?
The dressing is made of hemp seeds, a clean, healthy oil such as avocado or grape seed, garlic, shallots, the juice of a lime (or lemon if you don’t have a lime on-hand), fresh (or dried) dill, and seasonings. All of the ingredients are fresh, and more importantly, are whole foods you’ll recognize and can pronounce.
In addition to the taste, I can’t help but get excited about the ingredients of the dressing and all their healthy glory!
- Hempseeds are an excellent source of omega-3 fats, which are extremely helpful for balancing the hormones of acne-sufferers. The protein and healthy fats from the omega-3’s of hempseeds are unparalleled in the benefits for your hair, skin, and nails.
- Grapeseed oil. Though many people are trying to stay away from oils these days, I am not one of them. Healthy oils such as grapeseed are too valuable to keep away from. Grapeseed oil contains healthy fats, too. Namely in omega 6 and omega 9 oils, which in balance with omega 3 oils can do wonders for your body and skin–inwardly and topically! It also contains a healthy dose of Vitamin E, and makes a great substitute for traditional cooking oils, such as corn oil.
- Garlic. Besides being insanely flavorful, heart-healthy garlic helps to kill parasites, candida, and fight disease. Eating garlic regularly has been linked to the prevention of heart disease, stroke, cancer, and infections.
- Lemon/Lime. Loaded with vitamin C, antioxidants, and health benefits, lemons and limes are more than just a garnish served in your water at restaurants. Citrus benefits range from reducing the risk of kidney stones to killing off cancer cells.
- Shallots. Those who follow Dr. Sebi’s nutritional guide can omit the garlic and just keep the shallots in the recipe instead, and you won’t have to miss out on any health benefits. Shallots come loaded with antioxidants, vitamin A, Vitamin C, and anti-inflammatory properties.
- Dill. No ranch recipe is complete without dill. And the health benefits of dill includes awesome calcium, manganese, iron, and boasts a ton of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties.
It’s so easy to make. I’ve even made it in my mini blender on the go! Much like my water bottle, I carry my mini blender with me frequently. I have plans to whip up healthier salad dressings while I find myself out at restaurants. Oh, yeah. I’m that kind of girl. 😉
See me make it here!
Ok! Without further ado, lemme tell you how to make it!
